The year is almost out, and oh man, what a great year it has been. I sat and reminisced for about an hour (whilst getting my nails done super last minute) and thought about 2018. It had many ups and downs, laughter and tears, but as a whole I am extremely grateful and proud of my self of what I have managed to do in the last 365 days.

This year I got my first car, been on 12 AMAZING trips, found myself mentally, sadly said goodbye to some family members, whilst welcoming new family members (finally became an aunt) ticked heaps off my bucket-list, met some beautiful souls I now call friends, settled into my ‘dream’ job, quit my ‘dream’ job (lol) and opened my eyes to some fantastic opportunities that I wouldn’t have if I didn’t take the risks I did.

let me explain to you what I mean.

precisely 1 year and 1 month ago, I quit my job as a teacher, with dreams of becoming a travel blogger. The journey was nothing less of a rollercoaster. I had savings, but as we all know, you cant live on savings. The worry of working on something and not seeing the return you expected is daunting. I would worry that I made the wrong decision and that I am wasting precious time. Luckily, along the way, I met people that gave me the words I needed at the right time (Thank you Universe!) They spoke from experience and taught me about WordPress, affiliate marketing, influencer marketing, drop shipping and how to monetise. Having this understanding and being able to relate to these peoples lows, who now run successful websites and apps, gave me the courage to not give up.

However, I still wondered Was it realistically achievable to become a self employed blogger? The answer I now know is that, Yes you can providing you put in the work that’s needed. It wont happen over night. Let me tell you, a whole year has passed, and only now am I confident that I will make something for myself using mostly Wi-Fi. Another thing I would add, is that is has triggered my mind to all the other possibilities and creative ideas that will come in 2019.

In this present time, there is so much money to be made on Social Media. The most important thing to do is to EDUCATE yourself on just how to do it. I created my Instagram from scratch last year and since then I have gained 15.2k followers. Not paid for, all natural followers with a good engagement rate. Let me be honest. I did not focus as much as I should have, Most days I was a lady of leisure and did nothing. But the exciting thing is, 2019 baby! It is time to branch out and turn my vision into reality.

The stories of 17 year olds that have made 10k in one day just from the internet is TRUE, beauty bloggers on YouTube becoming millionaires both male and female is HAPPENING. These young entrepreneurs are breaking barriers and making it evident that NO DREAM IS TOO BIG.

I hope that everyone reading this had a good 2018, but even if you didn’t (even better) make 2019 the year that you pull out all of the stops and really smash it.

I hope you all have a great end to the year tomorrow night, and enter the New Year with a goal, a plan and positive actions.
